I am a smoker, trying to quite for the millionth time. I had a doctors appointment on friday and I got a long lecture. One point that was made was I have asthma and smoking causes my asthma attacks, if I were to quite smoking right now it would take 5 years for my lungs to be healthy again and there is a 90% chance that my asthma would disappear. Another point that was made is that I have a infection in my leg, smoking makes infections and illness's take longer to heal. If I were to get a cold the same time a non smoker would, there cold would last a shorter amount of time then mine. The Doctor prescribed the patch for me along with welburtin. Welburtin is an anti depression medicine but it's supose to help with the cravings, hope it helps.

I also smoke, have for the better part of 40 years. Like everyone else I tried different on the market things and they did not work. I did stop for 13 months but then started back up for some stupid reason or another. My wife and I are going to try hypnosis. I feel the main way to quit is you have to want to. I don't really know if I want to quit or not, I understand that it is bad for us, but my doc says I need to stop, or die.

I've heard that sex three or four times a day is pretty good therapy. Unfortunately, at my age, I do well to manage three or four times a month so I guess I'm doomed. Save yourself if you can.
