Two ways to go: Most powerful/gripping, or Most kickass songs.

The first goes to "Last of the Mohicans", an all orchestrated soundtrack so moving, I can tell you what is happening in the movie just by hearing the music.

The second category belongs to "Escape From L.A.", possibly the worst movie of 1996. The soundtrack features an original track from White Zombie, and songs from Clutch, Stabbing Westward, Tool, Ministry, and the Butthole Surfers.

Anything by John Williams...that man is a soundtrack genius and has produced some of the most memorable tunes like the Indiana Jones theme, the Jaws these (dum-dum-dum-dum-dum) and the theme from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Unquestionably John Williams - He has given a status to the art of Soundtrack.....No wonder he has more Oscar statutte in his home than those producers who hired him. If you wish me to pick just one of his plentyful....I would go for "Close Encounters of the Third Kind'
