no, i dont think that the first impression is always the best.
my friend was meeting her bf with me at the mall. well we were looking around and i had no clue who we were looking for. i poked her arm and said "i bet your with that one, arent you?" and a guy was just digging the most hoffific wedgie from his *** crack and she said "oh god, yes thats him, what is he...no... hes digging his ***!". it was funny. he is a nice guy, but really, that wasnt needed for a first impression.

First impressions, IMHO, are not the "truest". However, they usually have a lasting impression on other people's perceptions of you.
I would say that first impressions are very important, but they do not always reflect the true nature of a person's character.

I am not the type of person to just judge someone because I have been wrong in the past, but I know that most people are so I always try to make my own first impressions good ones.

No, first impressions are not really the truest. I've met people with good first impressions and they turn out to be the complete opposite. I've met people who seemed so terrible, but they were very friendly. Although I form opinions of people, I still leave my mind open for them to change it. I always give people another chnace to show me their not what I thought. People are very complex in the first place.

Not so long ago, I was attending LSU and there was a kid in a philosophy class who was covered with tattoos and whose face and ears were a wealth of piercings. I figured he probably had the IQ of a slug. Then one day I arrived early for class and he was standing around waiting too. All of a sudden he came over and wanted to strike up a conversation, and I immediately began trying to come up with some reason I had to leave. It was a real surprise when the guy turned out to be quite intelligent and well spoken. Why he chose to decorate himself the way he did is a mystery. Imagine applying for a responsible job that way.

I believe strongly in first impressions but have very few times found myself to be wrong. Once I met a guy at work who I was training and he had this amazing presence and polite personality, he treated me with respect and we got along really well. I often thought of him as truly genuine and spoke highly of him. After those initial first days he got comfortable in his position and swore and spoke badly of other people in the building. He insulted my skills to other co-workers while I was within hearing range and just acted like an ***. Everyone knew he was an *** after that but it was a humbling experience to say the least.

You know the saying "You never get a second chance to make a first impression". So yes I think first impressions last a lifetime.

I do this with songs. But I judge people as soon as I get to know them.
I had this really really horrible "friend". She'd beg for everything, and we (my friends) knew she was using us for stuff. Not friendship or anything. We don't talk to her anymore because she went to another school. But I don't like her all the same.
I thought she was nice. I mean, she can be nice at times. But then there's times when I really would love to punch her in the face.

"Never Judge A Book By Its Cover." In other words dont judge something or anybody without getting a chance to get to know that person or understand a certain book or anything you are not familiar with.
