i suppose the problem is that you subscribe to an engendered notion of society - women and men with distinct and clearly defined roles.
As women's reproductive rights have developed, so has their freedom to assume new and ever more progressive roles. Family and relationship dynamics have evolved to accommodate the notion of gender equality.
The hyper-masculinity of man is entirely dependent on popular notions of gender roles, which have undoubtedly changed drastically within the last few decades. Of course, these perceived changes are in actuality quite superficial, and generally only detectable within mass popular culture.

Lots of guys are stereotyped by magazines and movies. There a few real men left out there that believe in hard work and could really care less what people think of their looks except for dressing up for certain occasions. But they are the exception so I guess that is what the future holds lol

PROGRESS, that is what is going on.
And men are STILL real men. Get a grip on yourself. They've just realized that we are all equal PEOPLE, not a set of opposing archetypes.
Get with the program or get off the computer and go back to the kitchen where you belong! You can't have it both ways.

There is no such thing as a "real man" unless that translates into "complete a$$hole". Society changes, often times for the better.

Women present themselves in the most desirable ways in order to capture men hearts and then when the man succumbs to constantly go along with feministic ways to keep getting some, which his drive of youth demands, she grows bored of his predictability. She looks for another victim to torture. Don't despair! we older wiser real men will be standing examples of our cave-fathers etchings illustrating dominance.

Why is it bad? Why is it bad to want to take care of yourself? Live and let live. If somebody tries to "convert" me, leave me alone. I will do what "I" choose. I don't go for fads but I will do things that I want.
