I could definitely imagine my family treating me like that. They never liked me very much--I don't know why--and would almost certainly pick someone, anyone else over me in a fight. My mom liked my last boyfriend more than me and she never even met him or talked to him.

I feel, as a mother, that I could never "cut off my flesh and blood" but I also know that mothers know their children best, faults and all. If your own child is doing wrong, then I think siding with the "in-law" is acceptable. Just because you are a mother, does not mean that you don't see what your children do that is wrong. My brother had an affair and told his wife about it. Although I love him much more than I love my sister-in-law, I was able to side with her in this instance. It didn't change my love for my brother, nor allow me to cut him off, but I did talk with and sympathize with my sister-in-law thru it all. I think i would do the same if one of my sons was the wrongdoer.

honey as a parent there is no circumstances i can think of that could be justified. not that we think our son/daughter is or isn't to blame but there is and always be that line to dividing you/ us /them who ever to take a side. no mater what. Sometimes our own blood doesn't earn the right to have dude to certain circumstances be we as parents real parents chose to stand by them whether they maybe wrong but that doesn't matter WE ARE STILL FAMILY.. hope you feel better

You must always side with family openly or keep your mouth shut, but you can tell your child that you support the spouse (in law) position.

that's so hardship-unfastened. I propose it starts off as little ones then human beings pass into adulthood with this. i think of its a feeling of somebody being established. I somewhat have 2 daughters. My boyfriend is unquestionably accepting of my daughter yet i wouldn't in any respect assume my boyfriend to choose on my daughter over our daughter he accepts her yet wouldnt do. yet regardless of the certainty that in the time of a case i know. My pal whom is married replaced into cheated on and his mom went on the daughter in regulation factor. i actually beleive that its all with regard to the area and relationship you have with your toddler. yet regardless of the certainty that in the time of the experience that your toddler is interior the incorrect its not good to adhere with the aid of there factor once you trully experience they don't deserve your being there for them. Its a not hardship-free subject. (If he cheated on her he's interior the incorrect. If he left her after which went together with his emotions he replaced right into a guy to do it. not alot of adult men have braveness to get out then show there emotions. adult men who cheat are asses and could in no way be sided with. )

we have been going through that for 13 yrs because of the not so nice stepmother. she always picking her daughter and son in-law over us just because they have 3 kids and we weren't able to have any. my father in-law lets her treat us this way and we have turned our backs on all of them to save our sanity.

In public I would always side with my child regardless of whether or not I thought they were wrong.

In private, if I thought they were wrong, I would tell them and also why I thought so.
