No there will be nothing to talk about and no separation time. I've heard that that's the quickest way to kill a relationship.

I think it depends on the couple. My husband and I worked four different jobs together while we were in college. One of those jobs was at a cafeteria where we worked the same shift and it was just the two of us for the entire shift. We never had a problem. But we're best friends and enjoy spending all our time together. We've been together 12 years.

There are often times policies at work that restrict this, but then it also depends on the kind of workplace. If you are partners in a business or associates and as professionals know how to seperate home life and career then this is not an impossibility.
For awhile Melinda Gates still worked for her husband when they were married, the Trumps(Donald and Ivana) before their divorce shared an office. There are also good partnerships that can whistand the rigors of being within close proximity.

NO. It is a terrible idea. Even if they are in unrelated departments there is always a potential for someone to complain that instead of doing their work they are hanging around together. If one is the other's supervisor that escalates into rumors of favoritism even if both are making an effort to avoid that. It also opens up issues of is one of them flirting with someone at work when it is just a common work-related discussion. And of course the worst is if the couple were to break up - that makes the workplace into a war zone with everyone having to choose sides in the conflict.

i know plenty of people that have done that. i work at a music store that is run by a couple like that. the owner does all the ordering and day to day running of the store, and his wife does all the computer stuff and keeps an eye on the bills and things (she's better with that stuff than he is, lol).

i know that i need time away from my special lady at work. our brains dont work the same way, and i need to be able to focus and do things my way (and she tends to ask questions endlessly about stuff). but thats just me. doesnt mean everyone is like that. it all depends on the individual couple. think of how many corner stores and pizza places were little "mom and pop" operations. whats right for some of us isnt right for everyone.

Probably not, but I'm sure there are some exceptions. Like when a husband and wife open their own business.

However, I think couples who have had long term relationships, and would like to KEEP THEM, are better offer working in separate environments.

Too often you have one person that's on a job bringing their problems to work. Could you imagine if there were two people on the job, bringing their domestic squabbles to work?

Working together at one work place is never a good idea. You get to discuss the office at home and home at office, which makes life boring over a period of time and you stop enjoing each others company, which can lead to misunderstanding and ultimately separation.

No, because they probably spend most of their time away from work together, imagine living with someone for 24 hours a day.

Only if working together doesn't interfere with their personal lives, and being a couple doesn't interfere with their jobs.
