But what if you did not get it done and god forbid something is wrong. "They" are not making you get it done you should do it for your self and your baby.

Please don't wait or put it off! I read on a website that this woman had gestational diabetes and did not know it and her baby was still born when she went in to deliver by c-section. This is not a joke! If you have it your body does not use the sugars in your system properly and the baby gains too much wieght and that also increases many risks for delivery. There are many things that can go wrong, I put mine off until i was about 34 weeks or so and I was so worried the whole time, it is a simple test yes, it sucks drinking that stuff, but it is for the baby not you, we are parents and have to do what is right for those little ones now.

There are no risk factors for gestational diabetes. It can happen to anyone. It is an extremely important test as gestational diabetes can affect how your baby develops. Most babies born to mothers with GD are very big but also have breathing problems as their lungs don't develop as quickly. It is a very simple test that takes maybe an hour but is a must for any pregnant woman.

Remind your doctor that you didn't take it yet. Leaving GD untreated can lead to an infant loss.

I don't have to take insulin for my GD, it's just diet controlled, if you do have it by chance, you may not need insulin either.

Take the test, if something happens and you don't, you won't be able to forgive yourself.
