When Bruce Lee was alive, he was asked if anyone in the world could beat him in a fight. He said yes, one man can. Who? He said Muhammed Ali. The man himself said this! So, who are you going to believe? Him, or his psychophantic fan base? I am a partisan for neither man, I'm just relaying what I've heard to you.

Muhammed Ali was probably without a doubt the greatest boxer of all time, but Bruce Lee was the greatest martial artist. being a martial artist would allow Lee, to implement a variety of attacks. including, punches, kicks and throws. therefore Bruce Lee would soundly defeat Muhammed Ali.

Firstly you have to remember that you can really only box with someone else who wants to box, as it has specific rules that both parties need to stick to. And everyone knows Bruce Lee was vicious, using every part of his body against every part of his opponents.
Due to this logic i must go with Bruce Lee since he would have had no difficulty dodging a fist, but Ali would surely need to develop some leg defence ?

Ali was very fast. Bruce might have been able to match or even beat his speed, but not enough. Ali knocked out some very big, strong and fast men.

Bruce Lee.
Boxers are very limited to a specific format - they are lethal at arms length. Don't try this at home, but I personally took a heavy weight boxer (ranked 17th in the world) to the ground... much bigger than I am. Getting past the arms was hairy, but he freaked to have someone inside his effective striking range grabbing his body. Bruce Lee would clean up.

On one hand you have lee. A unproven fighter who made his name in movies. On the other hand you have Ali who only knows how to box in a ring, and follow boxing rules. If lee lived up to the hype and could fight as good as in the movies, I would say lee. Ali would be a one dimensional fighter where lee could do it all.
