How long does it take them to deal with what they have seen and what type of person would get over it a lot faster than another person.

I'm just curious.

Hmmmm... is there really a specific type of person, or group of persons, who can get over a horrific scene in a fixed length of time? I think that depends on the impact of the scene to the person and how the person takes it or deals with it. People's feelings towards a certain scenery vary and cannot be really uniform.

But hey, some lunatic would rather be awed and forget about it the next day.

Any normal, well balanced civilised person whose dear ones are not involved in the attack will get over it immediately and would press into action to save some lives... If such a person thinks his/her dear one's might have been involved in the attack, that person would panic to somehow find and save his/her dear one!

It takes a lot of courage to overcome such a tragedy. Some needs special counselling, including medications to get rid of traumatic experience. A person, who understands the circumstances (reasons, why such things are happening) easily gets over it.

It would depend on the person. And the situation.

I was a firefighter/rescue person. I saw some horrific things at accident scenes. Sometimes I could just put it on the 'back burner', other times it was easier to talk with someone about it.

The question cannot be answered. Normal by who's standards? That would depend entirely on the individual. Some normal, well-balanced people are more resilient to crisis than others.
