Saladin captured the city later, and let all live. During this time, Richard the Lion Hearted beheaded 3,000 of Saladin's soldiers that he had captured at Jaffa. (That is where his name came from--the heart of a killer lion). Then, there was Isabella and Ferdinand of Spain, and the horrors of the Inquisition against the Jews and Moslims. Christians have been the worse of the bad in the name of religion.
