It's a man thing. They just want control over the tv and the remote. I have a boyfriend just like it. If I get up to go into the other room to get something to eat or drink m my bf changes the channel or if I am on the computer and leave to go get something to drink or go to the bathroom he gets up and shuts the computer off.
Like I said it's a man thing. They think the world revolves around only them.

We work in mysterious ways and although it may appear that we are nodding off we are actually using our "man" powers to absorb everthing around us. We can watch TV think about our partners and think about the gorgeous girl down the road all at the same time, and you think we are nodding off !

He's probably like me. The show is only so-so and kind of boring and you see one part that inspires you so you close your eyes and continue a fantasy show in your head based on that part that inspires you. You get sort of hypnotized by this movie you've created in your own head and you kind of zone into the middle of it and it's hard for people to "breakin" to your consciousness so it may appear to others as if you're asleep while you're really just directing your own fantasy TV programs.

Be thankful. My ex used to drive me crazy flipping non-stop through the channels. I used to pray he would nod off just so he would stop it! We're very happily divorced now.

ha! mine does exactly the same. It's because he wants to make me happy by watching tele ("spending time with me") instead of going to bed but ends up nodding off. I think maybe he reckons he'll get away with it without me noticing, but as soon as i do i send him to bed!

The answer is simple... even in sleep men are in a constant state of readiness. So although it may appear to the opposite gender we are sleeping we can hear and are consious of what is going on in the environment surrounding us.

my father did it, my brothers did it...they just said they were resting their eyes, oh yeah and we weren't allowed to change the channel or turn the TV off. It was ridiculous but nothing to get upset over.
