I'm willing to go: Alma, Midland, St. Louis, or Mt. Pleasant. I would like to find a friend to go with, I'm somewhat shy about going into new places, and I need all the "clean" friends I can find ! Thanks and I look forward to your friendships.

Look in your local phone book under A or contact your local Social Services Dept. (phone them) Don't worry about going alone, just remember that everyone there has a similar problem. Once you are settled there is usually a "sponsorship" program to help and support you in times of stress. I don't know if there is a web site that will give you locations. Good luck. it's hard work but the others will give you all the support that you are willing to accept.
P.S. I know I've been there an am still living through it.
Just look at all the support you've got so far and that's what it is really like, we all understand, were all in this together,no-one points a finger and I'm sure as suggested you could E- Mail any of us for support.

One of the most rewarding experiences of my life (I'm 44) was about 11 years ago when I was having some marital trouble and I went to AA to help me stop trying to drown my problems in alcohol. I attended an all male AA group and for me, that was MUCH better than the co-ed AA groups. I went to several different meeting places and the all male one was the one I liked best. Since you are a girl, I would suggest you consider an all female group.

To locate one, just do a google search for Alcoholics Anonymous. You will be able to find a group in your area.

I highly recommend you attend a meeting or two, if for no other reason than to just see what they do there. You may or may not be an alcoholic, but it really doesn't matter. The love that comes out of a place like that is worthy of the time it takes to seek it out.

Good luck.
