I agree, Its awful.
I'm afraid its society that caused this trend. Theres so much pressure on girls to live upto there celebrity icons and if you look at the majority of them, theyre stick insects!
Unfortunately, lots of guys profess to 'fancy' these thin celebs. This in turn makes us norms want to be like them.
I wish there were more celeb icons like charlotte church and catherine zeta jones who really dont give a damn or believe in diets.
Big up to us curvys i say!!

some women cannot help being thin and it is insulting to call them repulsive when some women would do anything to gain weight and no matter how hard they try they cannot become any heavier! Just because someone is thin does not mean they are obsessed with it, it may just mean that they are naturally thin and cannot gain weight as well as others!!!!

Due to all models were at one time very skinny.
Girls these days thinks its great to have that boney look. and that they will be popular with anybody. Yes its nice to be some what thin, no bones hanging out, and a nice build. But these girls these days think their all this and that. I'd rather have some meat on my bones, than no meat, the wind could blow you over. Just think, when a boney person gets sick, it takes longer for them to get rid of a cold than a person of average size.

many women feel that they have to be super thin to compete with the celebs.
at the moment there is lots of talk bout fashion stores introducing size 0 clothes!! thats crazy! thats the size of a young girl not the size a women should be.
it's not healthy!!

I need to loose weight, and i suppose theres no point moaning about it as only i can do something about it. I have this theory that men find only thin woman attractive, no necessarily stick insects but just woman with really nice figures.

Television and media, and especially the california lifestyle where I live. I read an intersting article the othe day that indicated that most African American female are comfortable with their weight. And their men are alsocomfortable with them, they like that junk in the trunk, and that most mid western individual of any nation orgin are about the same.

Society made us this way so we're just keeping up with what we see on telly. And yes I am obsessed with being thin.

Could never figure that one out either. Suppose they just need to be what is considered acceptable by society and males in general. personally i luv Dawn French and Jo Brand who can be what they are and get on with it

Because we see all these beautiful models in magazines and lovely shaped bodied celebrities which portrays the image of skinnyness is the only pretty body shape.
Whatever you are comfortable in i say!
