Out of the blue and just to talk? That isn't the best example of proper ettiquette.
Unless a person has tolld you it is okay, calling past 10 pm in a non-emergency is bad manners. Even if the individual isn't sleeping, others in the house/apartment might be and even if the guy in question lives alone, a phone call at 1:00 might kinda freak him out. Most unexpected calls at late hours after all, tend to bring the worst of news.
If you feel like chatting at 1:00 AM, and it is unexpected, see if he's online. IM is far less intrusive than a phone call. If you really need to "talk" to him, IM him and ask him if you can phone him. If he ain't online, then it probably isn't a good idea to call him. (Unless you asked him earlier in the day if it was okay to do so).

it depends on
1. the environment u live in.
2. on the nature of the person.
3. how close u r 2 the guy.
4. urgency of the call-say sickness/ur safety etc.
5. i'm sure not 4 libido satisfaction.

Depennds if he is in a realtionship, you must respect the fact that this could be an intimate moment. Only in life or death circumstances, personal drama's can wait until the morning!!

No it's not alright, that's way to late to call someone. don't know if this person lives with someone or not. but you might not only be waking him up, but others in the house. they won't thank you for that

it depends on his schedule.....depends if he's single or married... i don't think it's tooo bad, just better have some deep issue or I would read more into it than just a late phone call

as long as he has is own phone line and mom wont answeryou should be ok....but make sure he stays up that late you dont want to wake him up
