The original version of "The Haunting" made 1963 or so. I also have a much newer version, but it isn't as scary as the old one. Three young girls were sitting near me in a theater when I first saw it. In one scene, they all screamed and one on the left jumped across the middle girl to land in the lap of the girl on the right.

I saw the first Saw in the movie theater, and it was the creepiest thing I'd ever seen. I was afraid to walk down the dark movie theater isle to leave and had a horrible nightmare that night. I think its alot scarier when the movie is about a real person because it makes me think hey this could really happen...

I am a pretty big scary movie buff and I would have to say that when I saw The Excorsism of Emily Rose, it beat all my previous favorites. It was pretty terrifying. And super well done. Before that, my other favorites are:
The Changelling (excellent ghost story)
The Excorcist III (beats the 1st one)
Lost Souls
and others, but those are the first that come to mind. Enjoy!
