When someone shows you a kindness, pass it on. Do something kind for someone else. Pay it forward.

It is in reference to the book (which might have come from a novel ????) called Pay It Forward (Hely Joel Osmet, Kevin Spacey, Helen Hunt among other notable names).

Simply, it means in stead of repaying (paying "back") a kindness to someone who helped you, make a personal commitment to help at least one other person when they need it (pay "forward"). In the movie the commitment was to help 3 other people.

I love that movie. In fact, it is on today.

To pay it forward, means to give back what you have received to others, not the person who gave it to you.

If I lend someone money, I don't ask for it back, but ask the borrower to pay it back to someone else, by helping someone else.

Pay It Forward is a movie that came out a few years ago. (Check it out) It means to exponentially do good deeds--I pick two people to do a good deed for--those two people each pick two people to do good deeds for--those four people.....Great Movie--The ending is bitter-sweet.

It depends what the topic/conversation is about. If it's concerning money, then that phrase means to "pay the money now".

It means when someone does good to you, you do the same for someone else. You should rent the movie. You'll get a full understanding.

i believe it's like "pay it up front" meaning, they want it all right now, no jokes, no excuses.

and the debt. be finished.

of course whenever this happens and you can pay it, ask for a receipt!

She's right, when someone does you a favor instead of repaying that person you help someone else in need.
