Apparently he is if he checked into a Hazelton facility in Oregon. I thought the man had more strength in his personal character than that, and how does one "find himself drinking again".

With his now disclosed drug addiction, I am led to believe that his humor and acting style was influenced by his drug use (alcohol is a drug), I will no longer view his movies. I now believe he was and is a fake!

AAers can delight in with new member Williams. They will rienforce the faulty cult like ideas that he has a "disease" and, once discharged from Hazelton, he will begin a carrer of relapse and die. They will never tell him that drinking is a behaviour that can be changed and associated pain and suffering stopped....forever!

Now Gibson is a different story! He deserves AA and AA deserves him!

Most of the really great comedians were at some point drug and/or alcohol users.

If you're just now figuring out that William's manic comedic style, the style we've known for like 30 years, was fueled by more than milk and cookies, then you're a bit late to the party.

Robin Williams and Robert De Niro were with John Belushi the night he overdosed. That soured Williams' love for cocaine. He talked about it a bit shortly after it happened.

I don't think the AA meetings the stars go to have much in common with the ones you or I would attend; I don't think many of them would put up with the the type of crazies that inhabit the regular rooms. They demand a certain amount of respect which goes against what's said in regular meetings.

Well....maybe Gary Busey.

If you had listened to Entertainment Tonight, the news show that had broken the story and reported it on August 12, you would know that Robin Williams checked himself into that facility as a PROACTIVE therapeutic action. Meaning, he feared falling off the wagon "all the way". I say BRAVO ROBIN! GOD BLESS, I AM PROUD TO BE A FAN!

You won't watch his movies because he realised a problem and sought to fix it?
I won't name name's but if you stopped watching movies with drinkers or drug users in them then you're going to have to start reading books.
He's doing something about his drinking.
What are you doing about your heartlessness?
