It is a strange concept that we have in our legal systems that as soon as a person reaches the age of 18 (generally) he becomes an adult overnight. How are we to decide whether a person can be held responsible for a crime based on his age??

Murder committed at any age is a serious offence. The system of "Trial as an adult" should be done away with and each case should be decided on its merit.

Say a 6 yr old kid commits a murder. It would still be a crime. The child could be a danger to other children around him. He should be punished. The mode and period of punishment should also be suitable.

Depends on what you mean by a minor. If a teenager, then yes, definitely. But there have been cases of children ages 8 and 9 committing murder, these types of minors shouldn't be tried as adults but still need to be locked up in a juvenile facility for a long time.

It depends. I believe the primary purpose of incarceration is its power as a deterrent. We frankly don't have an incredible need for a deterrent against the act of murder by children under ten years of age. So, in these situations, juvenile detention and a very heavy dose of counseling may be in order. For older children, however, I think such punishment is sometimes warranted.

I think that has to be considered on a case-by-case basis. A 9-year old, for example, may not totally grasp the concept of death and thus, not really understand what they've done. I think, too, it's important to look at the child's upbringing and environment...if the child's parents are drug dealers, for example, brandishing a gun may be the only thing he knows and understands to do. Should he/she be tried as an adult in these cases?

whilst minors can do different adults issues which incorporate rigidity get an entire time complete paying activity, watch grownup cloth, bask in different grownup events and don't go with Mummy's permission for each little thing, then they must be tried as adults. in case you go with infants to be taken care of like infants, then that applies to each little thing, no longer in basic terms circumstances which will income adults.
