I thank everyone for the answers, most of you are mis-interpreting my question. I did not say I support or accused anyone of supporting the Israel/Hezbolla war. I'm only asking if perhaps a better solution could have been worked out. I'm sure both sides are suffering, that unfortunately is always the case in war. Some of you are not looking at the problem with good perceptive point of view, look at it with both eyes open. If I offended anyone, I apologize, let's keep the discussion going....I have an open mind; we all have opinions and this is a good forum to express them!

no body supports Israel in killing innocent civilians but with most of the countries loosing their civilian population to Islamic terrorism and not knowing whom to attack the action that Israel has taken against Hezbollah comes as an welcomed alternative,to just sitting and doing nothing but it has gone too far now .

First point is that it is not Israel war. The war is being fought in Lebanon. As far as killing Lebanese, Israel drops leaflets warning of attack. That is alot more than what Hezbollah does by strapping on bombs and killing people. Not much talk about hat though . How far is enough to eliminate terror. As long as some Governments accept them into their life, the result is what you are seeing. It will not be over until all of the world unite in the fight against terror.

the united States supports Israel because it is the only democracy in the middle east and because Israel is surrounded by nations that want to destroy them...Israel does not target innocents...the terrorists Hezbollah are very savvy...they set up their firing lines in heavily populated areas, knowing full well that innocents will be hit...since the pullout by Israel 6 years ago from Gaza, the terrorists Hezbollah have been entrenching themselves with the help of Syria and Iran...sadly, the Lebanese people have elected terrorists Hezbollah officials in their parliament, which, in turn will eventually make Lebanon a terrorists sovereignty...note that the terrorists Hezbollah are very good at "PR"....along with Reuters!...question,,,which goals????

Israel has been getting bombed into oblivion for so many years now that I think it's about time for them to step up to the plate. The Middle East is growing more and more hostile every day with leaders like Adjimenhad (sp?) and the terrorist organizations that suppress freedom and peace. It's obvious that Bush is afraid of the media, and therefore won't completely act in wiping out terror. Israel knows this so it is taking things into its own hands. This isn't the first time either. They attacked Osirak in 1981 to destroy Iraq's nuclear weapons. A link is provided below.

In closing, I think that Israel has nothing to lose here and everything to gain.

I support Israel because she has the right to exist. It isn't only Lebanese who are losing their innocent civlian lives, it is also Israel. Israel is trying to avoid hurting innocent civilians, giving out warnings, pamplets etc., unlike the Hezbollah who are purposely out to harm civilians of Israel. Many have died on both sides, just one side is deliberate, and one side is not. Israel was the one who was attacked and has every right to defend herself. The Lebansese army should be defending its own people from the hezbollah.

If you start with the fact that Hezbollah's sworn mission is to destroy Israel and eliminate the Jews, then it's not too hard to figure out which side is right and which side is wrong.

Why do I support Israel? For the same reason I would have supported the Allies in WWII.

As I see it,its Hezbollah's war! They fired rockets into Israel, who, being a Sovereign country,is defending itself against aggression. Hezbollah's rockets are fired directly into Israeli civilian areas without an accurate guidance system!! You really are showing some ignorance here.

Oh, so it's the ISRAEL war???? Sorry, I was mistaken. I was under
the impression it was a country defending itself from a bunch of
murderous thugs with missiles. The U.S. is not USING Israel to
do it's fighting. We just support any nation that wants to defend
itself from terrorist attacks. Thats right - let's call a spade a shovel
here - TERRORISTS.

I don't support any war , however enough was enough the Jews have a right to live somewhere. They are continually being threatend and attacked. So when push came to shove they had the right to defend themselfs.
