I must add that i am rather fond of my namesake. I am not American.....but if i had to be named (middle name, at least) after a U.S. President, at least i ended up being named after one of the *good* ones.

I think Lincoln was a very interesting person--and continues to be interesting. He was very gentle and compassionate, and he never lost the fact that he was of the common people. I admire him and hope to visit Illinois one day to see where he got his political start.

Lincoln was a great social reformist & a great president, but i wouldn't say I love him.

he did start the respect that blacks get today. not all of it though but he did start the chain of events that helped them get their freedom.
