I have a perforated eardrum (due to early childhood infections in the middle ear), even after 3 surgeries to repair it. Whatever the cause, chances are that your eardrum won't give you any trouble at all. I've flown several times before and since my latest surgery with no problem and no discomfort.

Just don't let water or any other liquids into your ear canal. If in doubt before your flight, consult an ear-nose-throat specialist.

The perforation many times heals with the aid of itself. I trust Sam that you would possibly want to chorus from making use of a few thing into your ear making use of Q-tips as this may in hardship-free words reason an infection and worsen your project. There are perforations, in spite of the undeniable fact that, that favor to be closed with the aid of making use of an acidic substance over a era of time, like in my case. this might want to be finished with the aid of a well being care specialist.

I don't think so because if it wasn't perforated it would go in and out with the changing air pressure. It would hurt maybe if it wasn't perforated if you had sinus congestion. The plane if its an airliner is pressurized if the plane is not and you have congestion it will hurt I know it could perforate an eardrum .

The transition to altitiude may be uncomfortable, but you should be fine. Planes pressurize at around 6000ft pressure altitude inside, which is about the height of Denver. Not to high, shoul dbe OK but if you cant get ahold of your Dr to ask him, call the airline and ask their advice.

OH DEAR NO DONT DO THIS! You will regret it. Even with a headcold on a plane your head feels like it will blow up. Its horrible. I was actually crying from it cuz of the intense pressure in 81. I wont ever forget it. Can you take a train instead???

Purchase the ear plugs that are made from clay/jell. Not the foam ones.

if you have a oerfirated ear-drum, you might want to delay your trip til the ear heals and have your dr give you something for it or have him look at it
