I thought the entire 2005 season of 24 was the most compelling show I've seen.
I was a big X files fan as well as Lost.

For my money it has to be one of three choices.
3) Cheers- The bar where everybody knows your name! The show is absolutly brilliant, the comedy elements come thick and fast and the drama between the main characters is heated. I much preferred Diane to Rebecca though and so despite my love for the show I feel that Rebecca Howe means that the show can't be the best.
2) Monk- The defective detective. This show is a very well written whodunnit type show with a twist. The main detective is not your usual gun-toting maverick but rather a man deeply troubled by mental illness but strives to help others in cases that cannot be solved. The show is always surprising, often funnyand occasionly touching.
1) Frasier- The spin-off to Cheers. Frasier Crane moves to seattle, his birthplace and the city which he was raised in. He wants to start a new life, he's recently divorced with a new apartment, a new job, then his dad moves in. This comedy was every bit as original and funny as Cheers but even more so. This is the reason why if i had to choose one I would pick Frasier as my favorite tv show ever.

Nah the X Files was a great show, but ended lame.
I wouldn't pick BB either, for that matter. Not by a long chalk.
My favorite TV show has to be Magnum PI.
Littlte House On The Prairie, anyone?....anyone?

Friends. I love it, it is hilarious. It is one of them shows you can watch over and over and still laugh at the jokes, even when you know the scripts from heart, because the actors deliver the lines so well.
I also quite enjoyed that really strange programme that was on a few years ago called the 10th kingdom.
'Taken' was really good as well!!
and 'Charmed' !!
I DON'T KNOW!!!!

>> Spooks (British spy drama about MI5, UK's Intelligence Organisation)
>> Only Fools and Horses (British 80s classic comedy about the misadventures of 2 streetwise cockney brothers selling dodgy goods)
>> My Family (British comedy about an eccentric family)
>> Little Britain (British comedy about some bizarre Brits)
>> The Bill (British drama about coppers' enforcing law on the streets of London)
>> The Weakest Link (Some watch it for the General Knowledge questions while some gets turned-on by Anne Robinson's sarcasm)
>> Friends (Yanks could be rather hilarious, often funnier than their present Head of State)
