I found some vinyl coated window screen at Lowes. You might consider using that in place of the mesh or checking with Lowe's about special ordering some.

the search term, (in yellow pages, or web) is "welded wire mesh".
Steel stockholders, or trading estates is the most likely scources, engineers suppliers, etc. You want "half inch mesh" or Less, according to gliders web site. It may not have to be plastic coated, as you may find stainless steel, for outdoor use, galvenised, chrome plated, or whats called "powder coated" wich is coloured pvc, basically.
So to summarise, a yellow pages search, for "non ferrous metal"
"steel stockholders" engineers merchants" and so forth, terminology: "welded wire mesh" "powder coated" "plated" "half inch mesh".
