Hey that eqn represents the x axis.
put any value for x eg 2 then f(2)=5*2 - 4*2 - 2
f(2)=10 - 8 - 2 = 0
the value will remain constant that is = 0

Everyone agrees the value of x is zero; however I think there's a problem with the graphing instructions.

the "0" is the zero point for both x and y. Since x is always going to be zero no matter what the value of y might be, x is graphed with a vertical straight line overlying the broken y axis. Those are the ONLY points where x is always zero.

If you move right on the x axis, x becomes a positive number; or to the left it becomes a negative number.

5x + 3(x - 2) = 4x - (x - 4) First improve the brackets on the two factors 5x + 3x - 6 = 4x - x + 4 upload and subtract the x's on the two factors 8x - 6 = 3x + 4 Subtract 3x from the two factors 8x - 3x - 6 = 3x -3x +4 5x - 6 = 4 upload 6 to the two factors 5x - 6 + 6 = 4 + 6 5x = 10 Divide the two factors by utilising 5 5x/5 = 10/5 x=2

the result is f(x)=0
now u take 2 numbers, for example 1 and -1
=> f(1)= 1 and u have a point A (1,0)
f(-1)=1 u have another point B(-1,0)
now u just have to graph the two points and draw a line that goes thorough both point.

null function - graph is a dot in thr (0,0) for all values of x. if you simplify the equation (5-4-1) you see that the value of x doesn't matter because the multilplier is zero Cute question

f(x) = 0 for all values of x.
Therefore, it's graph coincides with the x axis.

First, draw your x and y axis. Draw your x axis really dark, and put little circles on it. That's your graph. Any value of x will give you a y value(f(x)) of zero.

PS how does someone graph on answers I would love to see that.

Call the homework hot line

Oh duhh that is right

School started some places. How nice it must be just to put questions into yahoo and get them solved by engineers and such. These are the days.
