I can say: "I am king!" but I am a mere unemployed person.
I can say: "I am great person!" but I am only average.
Does self-confidence has any meaning?

self-confidence isnt really about saying those things about yourself. its merely having the confidence in yourself to make you a better person. like, for eg, there are those people in the mirror who say to themselves how ugly they look, however if they had self-confidence in themselves, they'd be saying things that would make them feel better about themselves, like 'i actually dont look that bad', or 'im kinda average looking, but i don't care', or even 'i may not have the looks, but i do have qualities in myself that make me a better person'. then you have those people who look at the big picture. these are the people who try to see all the negative parts of their lives and never look for the positive. these are the people that think they dont need psychiatrists or even people who go to see a psychiatrist, and end up with the thoughts of killing themselves or even doing so. this is where self-confidence should apply the most. if they had self-confidence, they would have been able to get themselves out of that situation by looking at the positives and concentrating on that.

Self confidence should be within reason and it's good to have an idea about urself and ur limits.

If u keep saying u r king while unemployed u actually are crazy or a lunatic.
Most of us are average but self confidence comes in in trying for a c+ from a c.

Also we must make sure we don't confuse ARROGANCE with self confidence.

It seems to me self confidence is the ability to know FOR SURE what u KNOW.

Of course it does but it does not stand alone....it has to be backed up by action. If you are unemployed you need to get a job even if it is at McDonalds or WalMart. Go to school and get trained in what you want to do in the future. If you don't know yet, it is still a good start since you can never loose on education. My son has a BS degree in Marine Bilogy, a PhD in Medical Science and still does not know what he wants for a life career......so, he entered Law School! He does not waste time saying he is "a King" or a "great person" since those are only words.....he takes action to achieve. Oh, yes, he has a full-time job as a biotech scientist, married his college sweetheart and pays attention to his life with goals. You, too, can do that if you take action and not rely solely on words!

Yes of course.
Self-confidence makes a lot of difference to your attitude and basically your way of living and facing life.
Even if you are not a king , but by saying so you'll always have that spark and zeal for becoming a king.
Even if you are average by saying so you will have that zeal to improve and be the best.
If you don't have self confidence you'll never try to improve and will remain an average only.
Self-confidence gives you the courage and spirit to move forward and have a positive and ever improving attitude.

Self confidence is everything. It's you're "I can". It is the drive that makes you feel that you're the hero of your life. If you look for a job, sit for exam, or want to get the girl/boyfriend of your choice you need it. Be self confident is loving your self, trusting yourself instead of other people. It's your life that you're living so don't waste it.

Saying we are something has no meaning. Believing it is what gives it meaning. If you believe you are king of your own world, then you are. But apparently you believe you are only average. Sounds like you need some self-confidence.

It makes life easier to bear. But blind arrogance is not self-confidence. A self-confident, unemployed person will keep trying to improve his/her situation, rather than developing illusions of grandeur.

self confidence is the best way to go ahead in ur life.
if at any moment of life where u loose ur self confidence then u
can't go ahead to face the challenges which comes on ur way,
as every body knows tht life is the struggle and at every time u must hav the self confidence to face those troubles.

It goes more than saying "I am" or "I can". With self-confidence, you also have to get UP and DO the thing.

I have seen athletes say "I came here to WIN", then did.
