Doesn't hurt that much. Hell nothing if you can manage childbirth.
Make sure its your design and means something to you.
Of course you won't be able to wear a bra for 8weeks while it heals!haha
Ask for Simon above the Oriental Arts shop in Cardiff. He's the dogs thingumys!

I won't lie to you and tell you that it will all feel wonderful. I had my lower back done and the only place it hurt was on the sides, which are more sensitive. If you are wanting one in the center of your back where your bra hooks at, I would say yes, that it would hurt some on the spine, but it also depends on your pain thresh hold. The outlining doesn't hurt as bad as the shading, though. As for the design, go with you astrological sign, or if you are into flowers get a rose or etc. Go to www.tattoo.com and check out all of the sites and it will really help you get a great idea of what you want. Also don't forget to get a good tattoo artist that sterilizes his/her equipment. Hope this Helps!...Good Luck!

It's true that childbirth is the most painful experience but you should only get a tattoo if you reaaaally want one. Not only is it painful, it can also be a source of infection and you can catch Hepatitis B/C, HIV etc. from it if the needle is not clean (and you can never really tell). Also having a rotating needle near the spine is not such a good idea, the fleshy areas are always better if you must get a tattoo. Don't forget, you could be severely allergic to one of the tattoo pigments so better make sure the tattoo artist knows how to get you to a medical facility quickly in case that happens.

Its not that painful, i have a large tribal design across lower part of my back which went across my spine and it was fine but pinched slightly when it went to my sides. Why don't you have a go at designing one yourself if you want something different, most places would be happy to your own design or look on the net as there are lots of sites out there. Make sure this is something you really want to do as some people do regret it a few years later. I'm thankful i have mine in a place i can cover it up or show it depending where I'm going. Good luck and make sure you go to a good clean place to have it done if you decide that's what you want.

as for design decide for yourself. If it is not something that you are 200% happy with you'll regret it in the end. if you check any tattoo artist they have loads of pictures and can advise on what they've done before in that area.
if you really want a tattoo there brace yourself because it will hurt like hell.
it is an area of the body that has neither muscle nor fat so your body is very sensitive around that area. My personal experiences have taught me that areas with body fat (e.g. belly, bum chest) are least sensitive areas with a lot of lean muscle (arms and shoulders) hurt a lot more but worse of all are the areas where you're skin over bone(back and shoulders)
personally I never found the pain to be so annoying it's more the week after where the tatooed area will itch like hell and you are not allowed to scrath!!!

I wouldn't put it where the bra does up simply because at first it'll be really sore and the bra clip will probably hurt. Get it on the shoulder.
A tattoo is art, but it should be personal: it should say something about who you are and what's important to you. It's not like getting a bumper sticker: it's a kind of spiritual thing to mark your body in a permanent way. Make it mean something to YOU.

I would say that whatever you decide, but don't listen to the people telling you to get it on you shoulder because its meatier, or other obvious places, that'll spoil ya, if you did get it there what happens if you want to wear a feminine dress it wont look that feminine with it there, and I do think it wil hurt across your your spine but you know that a tattoos gunna hurt even before you go there to get it done!
but I do agree, butterflies and red roses are abit dated now!
but if you get one, like you say get something small and discrete. just how there supposed to be!

In my suggestion, getting 1 there... would hurt! Reconsider getting it somewhere else, like u`r ankle or something, and remember that wherever u put it, it`s going 2 stay there the rest of u`r life.

places where your skin is very close to your bone are apparently the worst places to get tattoos. Y dnt u go for a small tribal design or a small cross
