They just want to make sure if it's still okay for YOU - they're curious to know if it's noticeable enough to disturb you, or would you care or not about them getting fat. When you flat-out say yes, it crushes their already crispy thin self-confidence and makes them see that you're bothered enough to care/notice it.

Women love asking questions where you're f*ucked no matter what you say. The best thing is to say nothing at all.
Personally I love saying, "I won't dignify that with a response". Keep saying that and they'll stop coming to you with pointless questions.

They need reassurance. Usually they ask "Does this dress make me look fat?" or something like that, which I like, because then I can honestly say "No." Then I'm thinking to myself, "It's not the DRESS making you look fat, honey..."
