Five years ago when Bush got the memo of an impending attack he didn't leave his phony ranch either. I think the current liquid explosive alert is legit, but it seems to be the result of homegrown British terrorists, not people from the Middle East. Thank God the Brits are on their toes. We seem to be just as asleep at the wheel as we were five years ago.

If your response is going to consist of personal insults or saying that I love terrorism and hate America, than you're a liar, because none of that is true.

For what it's worth, the White House knew about the plot for four days before it was announced to the US public. It was announced the day after Karl Rove started working on Joe Leiberman's election campaign. Meanwhile on Friday Bush gave a BBQ for rich RNC donors.

It didn't take long for someone to attack Clinton. That was inevitable. And someone had to say I hate America.

I'm damn sick and tired of "King George is taking care of everything. You don't have the right to know." ********. That's Big Brother talk. I'll be damned if I give up the Constitution and leave everything to King George. I'll take our Founding Fathers over King George any day of the week.

Dubya is an idiot. He always seems to be on vaca during a crisis(Remember Katrina?) I'm a manager & when there's a major crisis while I'm on vaca I still have to handle it. I truly think he really doesn't give a sh*t about anyone or anything but himself. Only 2 yrs 2mos left of his term! I cannot wait 'till we have someone competent to run this country.

This Is Bush We're Talking About, The Political Figurehead For America's Blame. If It We're Really In Danger I Think There Would Be More Being Done Than Stupid Intervals Of News Reports. They Like To Keep Us In Fear So We Dont Have The Courage To Take Matters Into Our Own Hands. All The Little People Working In The White House, The Congress, And Whatever Else In Bush's Favor Can Say And Do What They Want, On The Basis That Bush Cannot Be Re-elected Again. Come On, Did You Actually Think Bush Would Do Anything To Protect America Into Attack, This Is The Same Man Who Allowed Our Troops To Head Right Into The Target And Be Killed For The Sake Of Progress. You Cant Expect Much These Days.

Do you think that he is the one searching bags and doing surveillance? It is his job give directions. This can be done anywhere that he is. What you don't think about is that he has people to do the other things to protect us. How many times a week do think that someone wakes him up in the middle of the night with something that might be a new disaster? It looks like he spends his time traveling and shaking hands, but he is at work 24/7. He is the most powerful man in the world, and under the most stress. Try looking at the way things are from his point of view be fore you start throwing verbal stones.*** Maybe you would have preferred Kerry, he said that he would wait until after an attack to give an proportional response. So some of us would have to die before he would do anything.**

Bush has a life too, but your right, if there is a scare, he should be doing his job either at the White House or a safe house. The gov't doesnt tell us his every move either. In regards to America as a whole being asleep, we are the youngest powerhouse on earth, so right now we're cocky and thinking we'll kick anybody's **** who crosses us, so we don't think about worst case senarios. This will fade in the next 100 years.

Hmmm, maybe we are about to get another staged "attack", like 9-11. Your liege was on "vacation" in Fla. when the 9-11 hoedown took place, too. Supposedly, visiting a school talking to the kids??! Notice how the terror alert just suddenly got raised over some event that took place in London? I think once again, we can expect SOMETHING to take place in September. I fully beleive your liege, GWB is probably fully aware of just what will take place...who, what, when, where, how and why too. THAT'S how he can be on vacation, and probably why he is on vacation!! The best crooks are far, far away from the scene of the crime when the calvary arrives. C'mon, he's not as dumb as most people think he is.

You're right he should behave more like Jimmy Carter did during the hostage crisis. Put on a sweater, and turn the thermostat down in the white house. Shuffle around the the halls wringing his hands.

The president is not a Bus driver we're not going to run into the ditch if he takes his hand off the wheel. It doesn't matter where the President is, he is never out of touch.

Ridiculous question.

Reagan had the "Western White house". Nixon had San Clement. Bush Jr. has got the "ranch". Bush Sr. had Kennybunkport.
Someone has to set the sub standard work ethic that these Republi-can't strive for.
Look around your work place and find the slackers or aristocratic managers and you'll likely find a Repugnicant.

You know, Bush may not actually, be on vaca.
What I have noticed, however, in working for various companies, is that when the $hit hits the fan, the main person in charge is generally out of the office, so they don't have to face any questions, or statements made by the people that actually have to do the work. He's just following SOP.
Our media tells too much. Everyone is in need of a vacation. Bush is no exception; but I'd actually like to see him take a permanent vacation out of office.
Remember to vote. And make sure your vote counts.

Because its not really a "vacation" vacation. Its like how Tony Blair is on a "cruise" in the islands right now. You know how some people cant help but bring work home with them. Well this is more like they keep getting bothered in the office to the point that they dont feel like time spent there is productive.

I thought I heard that he came back from his vacation but I could be wrong. I don't think we are 'asleep at the wheel'...here in Boston we have the national guard at the airport. All airports have banned certain items and carry on luggage. The government is looking for a number of people involved in the whole mess. I wouldn't say you love terrorism, your just another of the millions of people who don't like Bush and that's your perogative...
