my chinchilla is 1 yr 1/2 , and he eats a lot, and i mean a lot, but when i look at pictures on google of chinchillas, they seem huge and fat, and my chin is skinny compared to them, but he eats a lot, whats wrong with him?

Chinchillas are not all the same size, also if it is cold he may look bigger because he fluffs all his fur out to make his coat thicker. If he is hot it will lie close to the skin to make him look smaller.

I bet he is really active for a chinchilla, runs alot and just doesn't sit around like most do. Nothing wrong with him if that is what he does.

It could be the bloodline of your chinchilla. Some bloodlines have just gotten bigger or smaller over time, depending on the breeding. Selecting mating pairs for bigger or smaller babies will give you bigger or smaller offspring.
