Wrong !! The law states you CAN smack your children, but if you leave a mark, you CAN be prosecuted!
As for your other remark, first let me say,I do not, will not, ever support Tony Blair and this Government. In saying that,I think you are very misguided in your thoughts. Whilst it is true, the UK has troops in many area's,rightly or wrongly,it is NOT the case when you accuse these troops of deliberately murdering children. In any conflict, its inevitable that innocent lives will be lost, that's fact. You must also agree, that in many countries where UK troops are in conflict,it IS fact that many of these children, and adults alike, are being slaughtered by their OWN people, that is FACT!!!Does it make it ok,for them to be blown to bits by their own people?By cowardly suicide bombers who have total and utter disregard of who they murder? Its ok, is it if they are slaughter by their own Government?Armed conflict is not always the best option, agreed, but as unpleasant as it is,in a few cases it can be justified.

I either spank my child now, or he goes upside your head later.
One thing I always did was corrected my child. I spanked him for punishment; never to abuse him; but, how many of us over the age of 35 got spankings, to put it mildly, growing up? A shoe flying in the air towards me, a hairbursh, I had to even go outside and get my own switch. All to understand authority and respectability of authority.
Today, our next generation, for the most part has no respect for themselves, let alone someone else. Because they were never corrected. Because there was always the fear of family services intervening. Nobody, but my parents, has the right to tell me how to raise my child. And, sometimes, I have told them they need to stay out of my correction.
My son is now a 19 year old, college bound student. He respects all he comes in contact with. Freedom is a wonderful thing. It is not cool to be in jail, he once told me.
Yes, folks would tell me they were going to call the police on me and also say how hard I was on him. Isn't the world harder?

I don't think they ever did actually pass a law on smacking kids, I think they just spoke about it.
As for Tony Blair I'm just glad I won't have what he's got on his conscience. How can he sleep at night, or Bush come to that.

Smacking your child is not against the law as such - it depends on how hard you hit them (eg whether you leave a mark).
However, I think I understand the point you are trying to make. We can do something about it (long term), it's called the vote

What is your point? It's a fact that in war innocent men, women and children die. That's why you will see citizens of a country who know there is going to be a war, leaving their country to save themselves and their families. Parents who 'smack their children' do it on purpose. The children can't get away from that! They have no choice but to live through it (unless their old enough and smart enough to tell someone about it). Do you see the difference?

FALSE - please go to the back of the class. British, American and Israeli troops and leaders do not murder. Terrorists murder and terrorists are the only ones responsible for all resultant deaths that occur.
