Hi ii357. You've just answered a question of mine , so I thought I'd return the favour.
I'm 51 years old. I was around when Bobby Sands died. My heart stopped.
There is no oil in Ireland....north or south.
The British Gov't bombed the heart and soul out of Ireland when Tony and Dubbya should have been a bit of a mess in their Dad's condoms.........sorry...I feel this strongly about it.
The British raped the 6 Irish counties now called part of the UK.This was before 1916. This happened bcz the Brits saw a good business opportunity with ...er...like....ports.
Belfast.
Derry.
Brits created an artificial Protestant majority by manipulation.
Don't start me. I'll go on and on......
Good question though.....

Far far too close to home for the Bush/Blair alliance to do anything like that. You're right that there's no oil there - we have no financial inclination to bomb there, and also remember that many rightwing US organisations actively funded the IRA. It is alleged that we know who all the major IRA/Sectarian members are (this could just be an apocryphal tale) but taking them out would be a political meltdown for the government that did it.
Then the Americans get surprised at a terrorist attack on them - they now know what terrorism is, as opposed to just assisting it. We'll stick to the Middle East eh? Far easier to justify dropping bombs in places the majority of us will never go. (BTW a stupidly high percentage of Americans can't even point to Canada on a map let alone the middle east...) No offence indended to Americans...just your geography teachers.

I think not, think of the public outcry from the UK? Although the whole Northern Ireland thing has been very frustrating for many years, 1000's of innocent lives have already been lost in Ireland. Just what do you think a full military attack would do to a 100% civilian area? WWII in London all over again don't you think? Or should I say that action would have been no better than Hitler invading Poland, and hence they would start World War 3

it truly is amazingly curious. Terrorist alert stuff has a tendency to excite some human beings. Blair is in problem, Bush is in problem, Musharraf is in problem AND he needs more effective nuclear technologies. unusual bedfellows: the sensible, the lame, and the ambitious (merely assumed skill in Pakistan in a coup?) If any body with effortless chemistry, the FAA, and position of beginning safe practices knew about this ability and they DID recognize why have those fluids been allowed in carry-on? The timing of this foiled plot is suspect.

You are thinking too much. And your premises are flawed. And that really screws your thinking up.
What does oil have to do with terrorism. Nothing. Go read a book or go to a movie. Stop trying to think.

If you look at the history of british collusion with loyalist paramilitaries in the 70's and 80's you will find that that is exactly what they did do!
