A Yahoo search for "medicinal plants" (include the quotation marks in the search box) yields 2,400,000 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find the information you seek.

No, I don't know a botonist, but there are so many books on medicinal plants, it isn't funny. Go to Borders, Barnes and Noble, a public library.

If it can't be answered with a book, It is often possible to get the email addresses of university faculty and to send them a polite question.
