everclear is almost pure grain alcohol it is mostly used in the food industry . if you are a scientist then you will have access to chemicals for testing just order it from a chemical lab . moon shine is not everclear it is the same alcohol ,but with a lot of nasty unwanted chemicals

Not sure. But you can always ferment sugar with yeast. The last time I tried the fermentation, I created 15% alcohol. woot.
