**When I risked getting fired from my job to be at my boyfriends place on his birthday when he said he needed me there(I have never so much has been late for work in the last year and was unsure if my friend would be able to cover my shift)
I never complained about it either (after a few beers I did start saing " I'm gona get fiared " over and over but always giggling and never upset.) I made sure he knew that being there for him was more important than anything else in my life

Just be yourself!! Just show that person respect, kindness and consideration. Laugh with him, not at him. Get into some of the things that he like and enjoy those things with him. I just recently learned how to play poker and I shocked my man when I asked him to play with me. I wouldn't say invest money into someone that you are not married to, but I will say getting him a nice, inexpensive gift would be appreciated.
