The top speed, 71 miles per hour (114 kilometers per hour), can usually be maintained for only 200-300 yards(274 meters). At that point the cheetah's body temperature increases from the exertion and rest is mandatory.

Most state a figure around the 70mph range for a short burst, but this is obviously going to vary within the population. You also have to realise that its most likely not going to be in a straight line as thier pray would weave and divert to try and loose the cheetah. All in all you 1. Dont want to be chased my one and 2. Dont want to be in a 4x4 (SUV) trying to drive through the grassland at 70mph trying to keep up.

Depends on what is chasing him. I have found in life that the bigger the threat the faster the speed. Roughly 70 miles per hour for short bursts not consistently for any great Length of time however.
