Are the characters really having sex or are they faking it, I mean we all know what porn is all about but how about the erotic movies does it involve real sex?

Uhh...If you've ever seen a porno, you can see that it's pretty damn real, but no, there is no connection or emotion in the sex. To them it's just another scene.

Usually. Also it depends on the porn... the harder core it is, the more you can tell its real, some times you can see a closeup of the genitals. I heard a porn actress talking on the radio about how its really hard work, she was saying she shot 3 scenes that day and was worn out--but it is just "work" to them, they dont really get off they're faking that. In erotic scenes in "real" movies, they generally aren't actually having sex, but in porno movies they generally are.

In most cases, there is simulated sex, but there is said to be real sex in some non-porn films, e.g. love scenes in "The Lover" between Jane March and Tony Leung. Some Chinese people I know were sad to hear thatTony would do such a thing.

If you are referring to the one's on Showtime, Cinnemax, or HBO, AKA soft porn, than NO.. unless it's the show called Real Sex.. LOL!!!! Most of them are fake..

I think the actors (if you can actually call them that) get very close to actually having sex but are just pretending. If you watch closely you can see that they put on a good "show" but they're not actually "doing it".

in hard core porn you can see whats happening but that soft core stuff is just acting.no exchange of fluids, must be hard tho!!!!! pardon the pun.
