It depends on what your definition of "valuable" is. Is it the player with the best stats? Or the player who is most valuable to their respective team. I pick the latter. So with that in mind....
AL MVP: Justin Morneau, Minnesota Twins. At .316, 30, 101 he has the stats. Without him the Twins wouldn't be close to contending for a playoff spot. Ortiz has the stats, but being a DH, he'll never get enough votes to win.

NL MVP: Albert Pujols. The best player in the game today. The Cards struggle to score runs with him in the line-up. Imagine how bad they would be without him. Beltran and David Wright of the Mets merit consideration, but the teams line-up is strong enough that they would still win their share of games if either were out for an extended period of time.

I would have to say Travis Hafner and Ryan Howard. Both are deadly at the plate and nobody really wants to pitch to them.
I say this is how it should be but Ortiz will win the AL anyways. The NL could still be anybody.

I dont usually go for a DH as MVP, however, I think that Jim Thome would be a better selection for carrying the Sox through there downtime. The NL, I would have to say Beltran.

Jeter in the AL, since he really is the spark plug for the yankees. When he has Multilpe hit games the yankees win. Ortiz, shouldn't be consider because he only hits. Manny Ramirez would be my 2nd choice. I agree with u on Pujols

I agree completely with your choices!! Both are the best hitters in their respective leagues, and both are having phenomenal years. Already, Ortiz has had nine game winning hits in the ninth inning or later. He is the best clutch hitter in all of MLB!! And Pujols is the best all around hitter in MLB.

Chow!!

Ivan Rodruigez of the tigers. Just look at what he's done with that young pitching staff, using his knowledge and leadership to call all the right pitches! As for AL, i'm going to have to say Jose Reyes, the energizer bunny of that Mets offense
