Dragons are very highly regarded creatures. Many people don't think they exist, but still think of them with awe and wonder. Personally, I beleive dragons exist, but only the well trained eye of a dragonologist would know where to look. Dragons live all over the world, from America to Austraila dragons colonise the globe. There are different types of dragons, some with wings, some without, some that breathe fire, some ice. There are about ten or eleven species of dragon. There used to be many more, but so many have become extinct that it is important we preserve them and make them a secret to the governments of the world. If they were found, they would be hunted down for their scales, horns, teeth and claws. It is true that they horde treasure, and lie asleep for decades on end, but when they get up, the jewels and coins will have pressed into their underbelly, the weakest spot, so the dragon is well protected.
It is possible to summon dragons, tame them, fly them and form bonds of trust with a dragon, but these are not widely spread. If you want to know more, do ask. I love mythology and dragonology.

Mystical being. They are believed to be many types of dragons. Some with wings, other are ground creature and some life in water. Mostly people think that dragons have only the ability to spit fire that could melt anything. But there are myths about many dragons with many skills. Some are very strong, some are very fast, smart or magical. Dragons are a true art of nature, they are unknown, nobody knows where they came from. In our imaginations, legends, myths, dreams, stories dragons are considered a beast that can make you or turn you into a hero. Many stories about human contacts with dragons are telling that the persons gain special powers or knowledge. Mostly dragons are feared by all living beings. But people love to say that if you see or defeat a dragon you will gain something special and unnatural skills. I mostly use my imaginations and my sources to create and imagine dragons, if you want I can tell you more about these beings. Just ask me, I love legends and all stuffs about dragons.

Hi its me again...thanx 4 giving me 10 pts....well i only saw dragons at movies but not in real life, (i hope i do) because i think it would be really magical and rare to see them. As 4 you're question, books says dragons are special & magical creatures that has a very protective skin (remember the suit of Fredo at 'Lord of the Rings'?) In some children program it said that the tooth of a dragon could be planted in soil and cause evil....Lastly it plays an important part at 'Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire'.

What are Water Dragons ?

Identification: Water Dragons in Australia can be up to 1 metre, with long powerful legs and claws. Their tail forms 2/3 of their length and is almost all muscle. It is laterally compressed to help act like an oar when swimming. The Water Dragon has a nuchal crest – a central row of enlarged spikey spines at the back of the head. These spikes continue down the spine, decreasing in size to the base of the tail. At the tail the spines divide into two rows.

The Water Dragon’s upper body is a grey-green with cream and black transverse bands on the body and tail. Underneath the body is creamy brown-grey. They have loose folds of skin under the jaw, giving them an almost Bearded Dragon appearance.

Subspecies differences: The Eastern Water Dragon (Physignathus lesueurii lesueurii) has a dark stripe from ear to eye, that the Gippsland Water Dragon (Physignathus lesueurii howittii) lacks. The Eastern Water Dragon male has a red flush on its chest and darker bands. The Gippsland Water Dragon male has an olive-grey chest, and is distinguished with a colourful throat that is blotched or striped with various colours; orange, blue and yellow.

Sexual and age differences: Juvenile Water Dragons are light brown in colour, with head and feet disproportionately large compared with the adults. The female Water Dragons lack the bright colourations on the chest and throat, and have narrower, more delicate heads. The male Water Dragon’s head is much larger and angular.

Seems like you got a lot of posters that gave you their opinions on dragons, which is not what you asked for. There again, the last couple of posters did give you viable info, not opinion, and this is a wonderful thing. This is what I know about dragons.
Dragons are real, but not of our vibration. This makes quantifying the realism of dragons difficult. Same as the Fae, they are a reality but only those that accept them do they concern themselves with. And they don't need our validation. So the only proof one will get is through direct intervention of the dragon's spirit, because you have accepted them as a possible reality. They are of lighter vibrational composition and so, cannot exist on our plane the way you and I do, but can affect our reality just as readily as we do.
You can call upon dragons for a myriad of purposes, and there are different kinds for different purposes. Red dragons are known for the firy protective energies, Silver dragons are akin to Reds but are not so vengeful, they are more like guardian-angel dragons. Green dragons open the way for abundance and connection to Earth. Blue dragons are useful in matters of emotion and relation to people, primarily because of the water elements connection to the Blues.
Dragons are useful in these ways because of the color correspondences to the Elements, and the energies held within each element.
The most important thing I know about Dragons? That they are great helpers and go to great lengths to achieve the assignments you give them. Mine is Yellow and keeps away destructive negative energies, while allowing those who will teach me valuable lessons regardless of the negativity they'll bring.
Hope I have helped. Blessed Be.

There have been a number of dragon species. They were originally a water dwelling reptile and the female laid her eggs near water particularly in the mountains of china. They originally hunted and ate fish and were capable of exuding a sort of detergent from their skins like dolphins do today which enabled them to swim faster. Lakes that they swam in were very good for washing clothes which is why the Chinese are famous for good laundry.
One species moved away from water and became herbivores evolving a system of stomachs like a cow to digest their food. they evolved a bony membrane in those stomachs and when they produced hydrochloric acid (which we all do for digestive reasons) and it ran over the membranes it produced hydrogen gas. This expanded the stomach and the dragon became lighter and was about to fly like an airship using its small wings for steering and progression. To come down it had to breath the hydrogen out. This could be dangerous as hydrogen is highly flammable so it also developed chemicals in the mouth which when combined would ignite the hydrogen thus it could breath fire. Being flying animals only the head is armoured so the animal liked to sleep in a cave when it would face the entrance so defend itself against intruders. It was unsafe to sleep on any vegetation so dragons like to collect gold which can be molded with heat into a smooth sleeping area.

1. They're not real.
2. If they were real they'd fly backwards because there wings are wrong.
3. They are a product of old mythology all over the world.
4. People claim dragons must be real since they are all over the world, but this is not true. English dragons, for instance, differ from chinese dragons greatly.

I think that the dragons of legend are usually associated with princesses, knights, mystery and adventure.

All of these things still exist today but so deceptive have appearances become that princesses, knights and dragons can be hidden from each other and even themselves.
