The best source I've found for tires/wheels is:
www.thetirerack.com they can tell you what you can do as far as oversize/stock both tires and wheels. They also evaluate the different tires, detailing each tires strengths and weaknesses. They sell tires or you can use the info you get to look for tires on your own. I, personally, like to buy my tires from Costco. They are not especially cheaper, but lifetime rotation, flat repair etc. AND they fill the tires with nitrogen rather than air. The nitrogen molecules are bigger and I don't have a problem with the tire pressure dropping.
