The British empire gave up the land's control to the UN.
The UN decided to create a Jewish and an Arab state. Everyone agreed with the UN decision except the neighboring Arabs.
The Jews were attacked mercilessly and defended themselves.
The Arabs kept losing wars against the Jews and the Jews, now Israel, expanded their borders to ensure they were not attacked from strategic targets like the Golan Heights (where Syria rained down rockets on citizens.)
Israel is legitimate and has a right to defend herself. Palestine is a ghetto that the arabs use to deplore Israel.
Do you really believe that Saudi Arabia or Iran couldn't provide refuge for the Palestinians in 30 minutes if they wanted to?
Israel has pulled Jews out of Communist Russia, Ethiopia, and other places but somehow the oil rich Arabs can't do the same.
Poor Palestinians. They don't realize who their real enemy is. It's not Israel. It's their brothers that abandoned them.

It wasn't there "homeland". It was the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Turks supported Germany. They lost the war. The winners divided up the Middle East. In each country there were Muslims, Christians and Jews. The hostility between and among those groups came later.
Europe, being in sovereign or mandate control as the case might be, took it upon themselves to solve 2 problems after WW II; a Middle Eastern one, and a European one, exacerbated by Europe having appeased Hitler. And Hitler having murdered 6 million Jews and left the rest homeless, stateless.
In those days, it was not illegal in international law, as it is today, to teke territory by force.
Of course there weren't many Palestinians anyway: having been made refugees, they were kept in camps provided by UNRWA (a UN agency) and with nothing to do they made a lot of babies.
There's a whole history of this online. Start with Wikipedia's page on the Ottoman Empire:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottoman_Empire
and then go on to Palestine etc.

For starters there is no such thing as a Palestinian. Origanlly they were called Syrians. In 1948 the United Nations set up a Jewish state on land that was nearly devoid of human settlement. The Syrians and the Jordanians fought to keep the Jews from having the land. They lost their azz and the remmants were crowded into a corner where the Jews left them pretty much alone. In 1967 to 1968 the Jewish army took over the border regions in the Six Day war. This lasted until "Der Peanut from Plains" became President. His brother had a beer named for him and advised "Herr Peanut Brain" not to meddle in the region. Unable to resist the opportunity to one up his brother "El Presidente" started the Oslo accords in which the Jews commited to withdrawal from all occupied lands. They Arabs then escalated their attacks on the Jews with the aim of exterminating them Remember Munich ? The up shot of this is that lamentable mistake of the political system of America has left a mess and the only way to solve it is to give the Jews a free hand and let them deal with the Arabs.

If you go back in history far enough you will find that neither "Palestine" or "Israel" were countries but rather loose definitions to describe regions which included a number of different ethnic and religious tribes.
Neither the Jew, or the Palestinian Arab has any special right to a country with defined borders.

Many branwashed hypocrites would have you believe that Palestine belongs to the jews, but how is religeon any basis for statehood, would you have me believe a jew born in france is actually Israeli, no he is french . there were many palestinian jews living in palestine before the occupation and exporpriation of their land to british imperialists who attempted to get rid of the jews by placing them in the middle east, as if that solved any problems . Furthermore Many palestinians are descendents of the original hebews mixed of course with the arab culture through massive assimilation through hundreds of years .

go to web sites where you can find accurate information about how the Jews occupied this land in 1948
but make sure that these sites aren't made by the Jews because Palestine belongs the the Arabs not the Jews since Balfour's promise to create a home for the Jews in Palestine in 1917
