Contrary to popular belief an erection is not directly the result of muscles contracting and even though a fully erect penis is hard as a rock, there is no bone in it. An erection starts in a boy's mind when he thinks of something sexually stimulating. Blood is constantly flowing into and out of the penis just like any other part of the body. His brain sends messages to tiny muscles which cut off the flow of blood out of the penis and the blood is trapped in the spongy material of the penis. Blood like any other liquid can't be compressed (squeezed into a smaller space) so the penis swells in diameter, lengthens and becomes hard. This allows the boy to insert it deeply into a girl's vagina during sex or allows masturbation to be easier if he is not ready for sex.

Out of all the human parts, penis is the greatest design. No such multi-purpose organ or equipment exist like this one. It is used both for urinating and piercing. Erection is the process by which the urinary track is closed and the seminal tack is opened. Also it helps in piercing the vagina

Whenever any sexual sensation is generated , the brain sends signals to the penis muscles. Just like hair, these penis muscles get excited and they become erect. I believe, but u can confirm it from someone else

the penis erects from stimulation it receives either physical (touching) or mental (thinking of something sexual). the brain reacts with the stimulus and it sends electric signals to the body and the blood fills in the space in the penis tissue, resulting in erection.

penis has no bones, only has veins in it. when the man is aroused, he is aroused in brain and then brain commands the body to supply blood to the penis veins.
