The Beach Boys became America's Most Famous Surfer Era Band in 1966. The group has recorded over 130 songs and more than half are recognizable as belonging to them. Good Vibrations is a great song, but I don't think it was their greatest hit.
{They scored their first #1 in 22 years with the 1988 song "Kokomo," which was featured on the soundtrack of the hit Tom Cruise movie Cocktail and which became their biggest-selling hit ever.-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beach_Boys}
Good Luck researching this topic. I will be interested to know what the final talley is.
As for me, I think "California Girls" is their greatest hit.

Good Vibrations was a great song but consider also God only knows, California girls and I get around. Some of their album stuff is also superb. It is difficult to say what the best was because it can with your mood,

That was a very good song, but my personal favorite was "Sloop John B"... The Beach Boys are one of the few groups that sound terrific no matter what the song was... I could listen to them all day long, their music invokes good feelings and fun no matter which song you listen to... No sex, no murder, no threatening lyrics... Wish we could say the same of music today...

I like 'Don't worry baby' but I don't understand why it's hardly played on the radio.
