We were raised with the negative thoughts, you can't do this, or it's to much for you to handle, you don't want that, you'll never make anything with that,! It just keeps going. Parents haven't a clue how harmful this is to a child. Because it is never ending. The Parents are negative, the friends are negative, spouses are negative. If a person wants to break the cycle, all their thoughts need to be on the positive side only. There are so many things that people CAN DO, but the thought process won't let them do it.

Nowadays, negativism (which is far too prevalent imho) can help to insulate us from disappointment, although that certainly leaves little to no room for optimism, now doesn't it?
