Hard copy is something printed on paper... a "soft copy" is electronic (e-mail, word document, etc...).

well in the digital age... the hard copy is an actual PHYSICAL copy... as opposed to the one stored as data on your computer

Um its the one on paper, whereas a soft one is still in your brain, which is soft and mushy!! yeah.. JK!! but it IS the one printed on paper.
