No. I'm 50 and I think Barbie hasn't been born then yet. Or we were just too poor to be able to afford a barbie. My children were given barbie dolls but they didn't seem to treasure them enough to have a collection. Maybe with the many dolls that they were given they just took them for granted.

I am so old I had the Midge doll!I also had Francie and skipper,my Mom made me clothes for them including a buckskin outfit,I gave them to my daughters, and my 16 year old just passed them to my 3 year old granddaughter! She has a house,a car.The worst are the shoes!I could scream every 5 seconds the baby falls in a heap on the floor crying about Barbies shoes wont stay on!The first luxury item I had was the camper,I loved it,I was 14 or so,I play with them with the baby still!Only now they have a thousand Barbies and so much junk.I wish girls still enjoyed Barbies like we did, especially early teens. Thanks for the memories!Sunny reminded me we cut all our Barbies hair into Mohawks so they could be indian,we got our butts tore up!

Yeah, I played with barbie, for some reason I was always into playing with her hair, was never very much into the barbie clothes and all the other accessories.
Had about 3 I think before I lost interest, and I think they were thrown out at some point, if not they might still be in my parents garage.

My mom used to complain that the Barbie Dolls were better dressed that she was. I wish I did still have mine, I had 1960's to 70's Barbies and one doll I had, had wigs! Bleep

I owned Barbie dolls but didn't play with them often- I was more into sports than anything else (still am).

' Mornin, Stumper! :-)
I think I only had one or two actual Barbies...I remember I chopped off their hair & was really bummed when I realized it wasn't gonna grow back! LOL! (Yes, I was really young) I also had two dolls called "Jodie" dolls; they had hair down to their feet, & were styled kinda like old 'country' girls. I was a huge fan of Little House on the Prairie, & they reminded me of Laura Ingalls.
Odd, the things we remember, huh?
But my doll stage didn't last long. As the youngest & the only girl in the family (three older brothers!), I ended up being quite a tom-boy. Sports, climbing trees, etc....
Not sure whatever happened to the dolls. One of my brothers probably lopped off their heads & sacraficed them to G.I. Joe or something.

Have a great day!!

yes, i loved barbie dolls and i still have all of mine at my mom's home. I have all the ones from the seventies, plus some from the early 60's ( i think her name was midge??) that a neighbor's mom gave me when i was a child. i still have them and their valet cases, along with shoes and clothing..i know that some of the stuff is probably worth some money. I still have the Malibu Barbi, Francine, and Skipper, plus some I don't know the names of.

My sister and I had a bunch. My favourite was the veternarian Barbie. She got a medics bag, and even a cardboard diploma. She was also bigger than my classmates G.I. Joe, and had better ninja kicks. My great-grandmother thought they were indecent for not having underwear and insisted getting some for them. They all got passed on to cousins and charity and the like. I stopped playing with them at about 7 years old. When I was big enough to climb trees.
