my birthday's just over, so this really applies to me. I was given a small mini fountain. It doesn't look that great, and the wires makes it worse.. It's an ugly "decorative" piece!

An ashtray. And I am an avid non-smoker, do not allow it in my house. When I asked the person as casually as possible why they got me an ashtray, they said "Just in case you need it someday. You don't have to use it as an ashtray, you can put candy or something in it." Oh well. Just have to say it was the thought that counted?!?!? But knowing my circumstances, in my heart of hearts I think it was tacky.
(ps I lost both of my parents due to smoking, that's why I destest it so much. )

My mother in law got us a toaster that takes hotdog buns and hotdogs for our wedding. How goofy. Yet another bulky device to clutter up the kitchen with. Well, she's broke and knows her daughter hates boiled hotdogs.

LOL! FUNNY STUFF....

Lets see, I cant think of one for me but the other day
My sweet but open and blunt little girl asked her grandmother,
why did you give me panties for my birthday , how embarrassing.
My mother got very upset, but I felt sorry for both of them cuz my mother was just trying to be helpful and my daughter was embarrassed infront of her friends......

Note: Panties are a bad idea for a gift given in open..lol

A huge salt shaker & pepper grinder. Honestly I could have used the things as weapons they were so big. But I was thankful for them cause they came from my big sis.

I don't think I've ever been given a dumb gift, disappointing ones though, like hankies are the most disappointing.

MAYBE it was a subtle hint of what they would like to do to you?
They obviously were very polite about it, gold plated!

One sock, not a pair of socks. No, just one sock! In a colour that I would never wear if it was a pair! I am not an amputee, there is nothing wrong with me, she must have been out of her tree. at least, it was free.
