You have a BC-02 cartridge, they are pretty much one of the easiest and most resilient cartridges to refill..

First, when buying a kit you want to make sure that it is designed for the printer. Avoid universal refill kits, all ink is not the same. You also want to make sure that before refilling the cartridge is printing well, or was printing well within the last couple weeks. It dramatically increases the success of refilling.

To refill the cartridges themselves, there is just a little plug on the side of the cartridge with a couple holes. Remove that with a miniature screw driver or a finger drill. A good kit will provide either tool for you.

Inject about 15 ml of ink, as to not overfill and prevent a mess.
After that remove the needle from the syringe and force a little air through the cartridge (this will make ink spray out the bottom so do it over the sink. This frees any blockages from the cartridge .
Replace that little plug and install when no excess ink is dripping from the print head.

Run a print head cleaning. ON the older model canon printers you can do this by holding down power and tapping the page button 3-5 times.

This should print out a diagnostic page. If everything looks good you are ready to print. If not repeat print head cleaning a couple times.

Be careful using refill cartridges, if anything goes wrong the technicial service will give you a hard time and probably refuse to honour the guarantee. Refills are never as good as Canon cartridges and can gunk up your print heads.
If you do go ahead with the refill thing, do it on old newspaper to avoid accidents.

As the previous answer says, the instructions will be with the Refill package. HOWEVER - make sure you have plenty of newspaper under the place where you will be doing the refilling. The ink, if it gets into cloth, wood, worktops, flooring etc., is almost impossible to remove. Also, wear disposable gloves as it takes about a weeks scrubbing to remove it from the skin.........

don't really.. using refilled cartridges will harm your printer print head and normally it costs you more than the printer cost it self .. buy genuine cartridges is the best way specially with canon & epson.
