For the above problem the A/C gas has been recharged, thermostat also has been replaced but the problem still persists. While driving A/C is very cold then cuts out and will not restart for about 10 to 15 minutes eventhough the temperature in the car is uncomfortably high.
Please help me with this problem as my mechanic is unable to solve it.

Sounds like a bad pressure switch (on the compressor)

Ok here is the correct answer Ive worked on many Honda a/c units. Inside the evaporator housing mounted to the evaporator core is the Expansion valve. If the valve is bad or going bad it sticks in a closed position causing the low side of the ac system to go into a vacuum. When this happens the compressor cuts off until the valve unfreezes then the a/c works again for about 15 to 20 min. Change the Expansion valve this will solve your problem.

I've own 2 Honda Civics and had the same situation. Honestly, I believe that it is normal on Civics and that it turns off after the car thinks that it has the proper air conditioned level in the car.

I only say this because I was never uncomfortable (too hot) once the A/C did turn off.

What you are experiencing is very normal for Civic owners.

Sounds like your A/C compressor is going bad.

your A/C coil must have been choked from out side . Wash it with pressure water & refit it.

it needs freon. it stops because the A/C is frozen on the inside. when low on freon the A/C freezes on the inside
