As in science and mathematics, it is often possible to simply an equation and end up with a much more satisfying answer. In this case, take away "Bush" and substitute the more general, "every politician".
Then you have some simpler answers...
Because they can.
Because it will advance their cause. (re-election and greater power)
Because far too many of the public will believe them without doing any research on the matter under discussion.

What is better: An informed, educated public
or people who are misinformed, misled, fed with wrong and misleading facts?
People who have doubts about what they should think, what the facts are and do not know what is real and what is not are a LOT easier to lead, to mislead, to control and to indoctrinate with an agenda that is disadvantageous to the general public.
The Bush junta lies today and lied from before the first inauguration (charade) to the American people. This is their stated policy. This formerly great country has succumb to a fascist regime that is not elected by the people for the people, but selected by an international cabal of powers who have identified a new way to control the world and use the U.S. as executive tool to achieve their goals. And those goals are power, power, money, and some more power.
The linkage to the alledged terror plot in London is nothing but a convenience in order to increase the scare tactics the Bush junta employs to control the public. The more boogeymen are out there the easier the control of the people's fears.

Almost evrything Bush says is a lie.
He lied about 9/11 which was the incident which kicked off the entire war on terrorism, under a completely false premise.
Then Blair followed along like a Poodle, and created his own false flag terrorist event known as 7/7.
It is important for them to keep the public afraid, because then the public demand more security. This enables further removal of freedom, and allows the introduction of a police stae, which is the true agenda.
This linking of Hezbollah is the biggest joke ever, and fortunately the general, public are slowly wising up.
Firstly, as you state, Hezbollah has nothing to do with Al Queda (Al CIAda), but, most importantly, this entitre 'terror plot' is unreal. with no true evidence. It is a figment of the imagination of the British police, just like other recent British police false events

I agree with Alan. If Bush told the complete truth he would be impeached and tried for warcrimes and sercve a sentence for crimes against humanity, along with his corrupt administration warhawks Rumsfeld and Cheney who amassed a $Billion fortune form the Iraq war in contracts for his co. Haliburton.
The American public are the most misled and misinformed people on the planet. So few have travelled the world or even posess a passport. This plays into the hands of this govt. who have the Republican mouthpiece Fox News churning out scripted spin and biased censored news nightly. Meanwhile our working class unemployed youth are used as cannon fooder in their illegal wars which seem to be growing by the minute. First there was the trumped up lies used as an excuse to invade Iraq, which resulted in the death over over 100,000 civilians. Then it was Afghanistan, now Lebanon and daily we are seeing devastating scenes of destruction of that little country and the genocide of their innocent children. Since Israel is resonsible for this destruction and massacre of inocents it will be descirbed as collateral damage not murder or 'terroism' as happend when there are Israeli victims, then they are always victims of 'terroism'. So what do you call the desctruction of a country and it's infrastrucutre and the massacre of over 1,000 of their civilians?. If that is not 'terrorism' I do know what is.
At the last count this govt. were spending $450Billion on defence. Money which could be much better spent on health, education, boosting out economy, the creation of jobs. But since they are in bed with the $Multi Billon Arms Manufacturers, they have a vested interest in ongoing conflict and wars. Our young men and women are merely cannon fodder in their game plan. While they top up their offshore accounts from all the backhanders fro Oil Arms and Pharmeductical kick backs, and are driven on to more wars and conflict through sheer greed and agression.
All I can say is roll on the next election. At least this lot will be out on their fat asses, and not a minute too soon. For the sake of humanity and world peace and out own economy we need these warmongers out asap.

He does that to create a link between Hezbollah and alqauida and give more credibility to the Israeli propaganda that what they're doing is the same as the American war on terrorism.
Truth is it is very different.Hezbollah, whether you agree wit them or not,are fighting an occupation of their country.
Osama Bin Laden is a fascist who attacks innocent people and declared war on the US long before the US invaded Iraq and even Afghanistan. He wants Sharia law imposed in the whole world.Unacceptable for believers in democracy.
Hezbollah on the other hand is fighting an illegal occupation and never attacked anyone in Europe or the US.I condemn the loss of all human life and certainly the use of suicide bombers but I think that their struggle is justified.

Bush is telling what Americans want to hear.
True or not, is immaterial.
If Americans ever realise we all live in a small planet, sharing the same consequences like war, climate warming, recession, . . . and history has proven atrocities backfire, then maybe they will put the planet's fate in a better hand.

Probably for the same reason that all the other world leaders lie to their own countries...
and the same reason that corporate leaders around the world lie to their employees...
and the same reason that the terrorist leaders lie to their followers....
To support their own agendas. It is called politics. It has been happening for thousands of years. I'm not condoning Bush's actions, but I'm tired of people making it seem like he is the ONLY person in the world who does it.
Wake up, people.

while you evaluate that's amazingly ordinary to control minds of yankee human beings. regrettably many human beings nonetheless belive each and every of the bull which their government tells them without even thinking or thinking. that's critically nicely-known worldwide that Bush, Cheney and Republican-Neocons-Fascists are liars and hypocrites.. This time they decide directly to sort unfavourable public opinion in direction of Russia and to take care of aggressive strikes of their puppet-Georgia.
