Between about 1956-1960 a song, which never reached No. 1 was on the hit parade - The Shape I'm In?

This particular version was sung by a Mr. Universe/Mr.America/Mr. California body builder winner?
Can anyone help me with the name of this person. In Australia it reached somewhere in the top 40 during that period. And at one stage, in Australia it was sold as part of a series of rock n roll songs on a CD/CD's probably sold in the 1990's.

The only guy who won those body builder competitions back in that time frame, was Bill Pearl...but I can't find any evidence of him recording any music.
Additionally, if I understand your question correctly, there never was a song with the title "The Shape I'm In" ANYWHERE on the charts from '56-'60...or anytime, for that matter.
